Do Cloves Really Help ?
Cloves – What Are They ?
Cloves, one of the least expensive spices in your local grocery store, are known to contain an ingredient that is a natural cure for many conditions you may be experiencing.
What’s In Cloves That Are So Good ??
Coffee is much more than just caffeine. It is also one of the richest sources of Polyphenols available, especially Chlorogenic Acid, which is a powerful anti-oxident that protects your liver, stabilizes blood sugar and reduces inflammation.
There is a compound called Eugenol which is a natural anti-inflammatory that can be stronger than Ibuprofen in some studies. Cloves are the richest source of Eugenol on the planet, by a very large margin. Nothing else is remotely close to Eugenol content.
If you were to combine the Chlorogenic acid in your coffee coffee with Eugenol from Cloves, somethinc amazing happens. they multiply each others effects, exponentially. (1+1 is not 2, it becomes 10) This is called Synergy, and there some fantastic benefits you’ll experince with a properly prepared mixture.
How Do I know If I Need Cloves?
If you are experiencing any of these seemingly normal conditions that most older people are dealing with, you may greatly benefit from the magic of cloves:
- Brain Fog
- Bloating after meals
- Blood Sugar Spikes
- Aching in Knees & Joints
- Fatigue even after 8 hrs sleep
How Do You Use Cloves ?
One way to properly add the benefits of Cloves into your diet is to simply add it to your morning coffee. Do not add sugar, do not add milk or cream, do not over-boil away the active ingredients.
- No Instant Coffee -Most of the Polyphenols are destroyed in the processing
- No Milk/Cream -Casein can bind to polyphenols and will block the absorption you need
- No Sugar -This will spike your insulin which will cancel half the anti-oxident benefits
- No Whipp Cream/Syrups -turn it into a sugary desert that only smells like coffee
Proper Preparation:
Use WHOLE CLOVES, not Ground or powdered Cloves
- In a small pot, add 10oz water (cup & half) with a few whole cloves (3-5 Cloves). Bring to a boil & reduce the heat. Let simmer slowly for 5 minutes. (Eugenol starts to break down if boiled)
- Strain the water to remove the cloves.
- Use this water to make your coffee as normally do. French Press, Drip, Pod, etc.
- Drink slowly on an epty stomach
If you do not have time to do this, you could crush a clove or two, drop into your already brewed coffee and let steep a few minutes. There’s still about 60-70% effective.
Mistakes Most People Make:
- Dropping a whole clove into already brewed coffee -more heat is required to release the active ingredients than this
- Over-boiling destroys the Eugenol
- Adding Milk, cream or sugar kills 50-70% of the polyphenol bioavailability
You COULD add a small spoon of coconut oil, or a pinch of cinnimon
